NAC Adds to Consultant Roster to Expand Fuel Cycle Coverage
NAC International Inc. (NAC) has recently added three new consultants to its roster to grow and strengthen its range of services in all aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle for both industry and government clients. The new NAC consultants Yogesh Parmar, Halim Alsaed, and Kara Colton collectively bring vast expertise from a wide range of specialized fields from advanced reactor waste management and core design to spent fuel examinations and community engagement.
Based in Switzerland, Yogesh Parmar has worked in the nuclear industry for more than 30 years in key technical and management positions for suppliers, utilities, and an engineering consulting firm. Over the course of his career, he has managed many large international nuclear projects. In fact, his experience covers virtually the entire nuclear fuel cycle: licensing, manufacturing, design, in-core fuel management, fuel performance, transportation, interim storage, and final storage.
Another industry veteran, Halim Alsaed, a nuclear engineer with expertise in reactor physics, nuclear and criticality safety, probabilistic risk assessment, and nuclear waste management also joins NAC’s network of consultants. During his long career, Halim has worked with the commercial nuclear power sector, as well as with DOE and the National Nuclear Safety Administration. Starting his career with reactor vendors such as Westinghouse and AREVA, he has designed reactor cores and done advanced nuclear analysis. Later, he managed risk and criticality issues at the Yucca Mountain Project and, after the project’s suspension, started a nuclear analysis consulting firm.
Completing our trio of new expert additions is Kara Colton. She brings a fresh perspective to NAC as a proven nuclear policy expert with decades of experience in energy policy, government relations and community engagement. Her consulting background includes working with energy organizations, local governments, government agencies such as DOE, and labor unions. Over her career, she has managed high-profile nuclear policy initiatives, working with government leaders and communities on complex energy issues.
“NAC’s three newest consultants help fill out an extensive range of services that cover, like nobody else, the entirety of the nuclear fuel cycle,” said Dave Culp, Vice President of Consulting. “Whether you are looking for insights on optimizing core design, analyzing interim storage options, regulatory support or community engagement, NAC has a diverse team of highly experienced experts who can help.”
