Mr. Luis Reyes is a highly experienced consultant for NAC International focused on educating clients on proper techniques and requirements to run successful nuclear operations. He is an experienced board of director member for both public and private companies. He is a member of several advisory boards, including NAC International.

Mr. Reyes is a frequent invited speaker for professionals and students on nuclear energy. He has spoken at MIT on several occasions on the role of a Board Director. He has also been a featured speaker at the annual Japan Nuclear Safety Conference. In addition, he is an expert consultant for the Regulatory Affairs Strategic Steering Committee of six major US Utilities companies.

Serving as a Board Member at First Energy since 2013, Mr. Reyes has been an independent director for the Governance and Operations Committees providing strategic direction for the company. He has also provided support on Boards for the following companies from 2012 to present:

  • Duke Energy
  • Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO)
  • Japan Nuclear Safety Institute (JANSI) – International Advisory Committee Member
  • NuScale Technical Advisory Board (TAB) Member

During his 30-plus year career at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Mr. Reyes also led regional and total U.S. operations for more than 4,000 employees and oversaw $1 Billion budget for the federal government. While at the NRC, he served as an Expert Consultant to the International Atomic Agency for nuclear plant construction and operations.

Mr. Reyes holds a master’s degree in nuclear engineering and bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
